The founder, owner, & operator of Bodacious, a BBQ pioneer and the original Mobberly pitmaster passed away September 20, 2018. At 78, Roland was still stopping in most days to check on the crew, give direction and eating barbecue.
While Roland isn't physically here anymore, he is living on in spirit as his crew has taken over his specialty techniques and his family continues operating the businesses. The barbecue pits still function to his specifications and the hum of the Mobberly cleaver echoes his direction. We believe he's watching over us!

Chef Jordan Jackson is a 2011 LeCordon Bleu graduate that operates and manages two Bodacious Bar-B-Q locations (see also Gladewater). Jackson is sometimes referred to as The Chef or Son-in-Law because he is actually Roland's son-in-law, as he married Paige in 2012. They have two daughters they are raising in the barbecue places, just as Roland did.
Jackson has been featured in Texas Monthly Magazine with the Mobberly location designated as the #4 bbq restaurant in the state of Texas. He has participated in the Texas Monthly BBQ festival, Meat Up, Red Dirt Festival, & Austin vs. Houston Throw Down. He has been a guest speaker with Texas Monthly events and taught classes along side Matt Pitman with Meat Church.
Jordan is a really busy guy with a creative mind.... but he always seems to make time for family, friends, and fans! You can find him at either one or both of his locations on a daily basis.
Bryan joined the Bodacious family in 2017, learning the bbq trade directly from Jordan and Roland. He is a Kilgore College Culinary graduate and has long term experience in customer service management. Bryan resides in Longview with his wife and two sons.
Bryan has a BIG passion for all things barbecue! He has attended and worked alongside Jordan for the Red Dirt Festival and Texas Monthly BBQ Festival. On his days off, he is either trying new recipes at home or traveling to try other barbecue restaurants.
